Caring for Pearls

Pearls are relatively soft gems and are easily scratched by other jewellery or metals. Keep your pearls looking their best for decades with Mr Town Talk's Top Tips:

1. Protect from exposure to any chemicals, cosmetics or hair spray as these will pit the pearls’ surface and weaken the thread
2. Put pearls on after all cosmetics have been applied
3. Have the necklace strung with knots
4. Do not dip into any jewellery cleaner. Wipe the pearls with a soft cloth after use and before storing
5. Never use an ultra-sonic cleaner
6. Restring when thread is dirty or stretching
7. Ideally, store pearls in a Town Talk Pearl Pochette and clean using a Town Talk Pearl Care Kit
